This List is intended for Hunters who are planning an Elk Hunt with Sacramento Mountain Outfitters and are wondering what kind of equipment to bring. Based on my years of experience, the following list is what I believe you will need. 

Remember - The Outfitter is always willing to consult the hunter regarding the best equipment and gear for the climate and weather conditions of the area.

Checklist for Hunters  (What To Bring):

Hunting clothing to include at least one set of clothes for each day. (Camoflage clothing preferred.)
2 sets of Good Walking boots
Lightweight jacket for warm days
Heavyweight jacket for cooler days
Rain gear that is easily packable
Light pack
Personal items to include:
     Scent free deodorant (any personal items should be scent free), toothbrush,
     toothpaste, razor, shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner, etc. (Towels, soaps,
     sheets, blankets, pillows will be provided in lodging)
Prescription medications
Allergy or other over the counter medications
Extra socks
Rifle with scope – minimum .30 caliber or larger
Bullets – 175 grain or larger
Bows - 45 pound draw weight minimum
Extra arrows and broadheads
Muzzleloader no less than 50 caliber
All accessories for muzzleloader (bullets, powder, caps, flying powder, etc.)
Binoculars – good quality optics 10 x 30 to 10 x 40 preferred
Rangefinder
Flashlight with extra batteries
Scent and Scent Elimination agents
Calls
Knives – 6” or larger sharpened
Camera
Sunglasses
